Lanai takes shape

We have always been clear that we wanted the front lanai to have a curve to it. Dave was clear that a curve is A LOT more work to create. He indulged our request however and got Rob working on it. After many hours of meticulous work Rob created a wonderful curved concrete curb to frame the lanai on the Makai side of the house.

Riley and Peyton tested the curb as soon as the concrete dried.

And helped with a few other chores while they were there...

This curb is irresistible. It is just asking to be walked on!

Next step, adding joists

Each board has to be cut to fit the curve.

Eventually this will all be covered with kumuru planks, but plywood will work for now.
